Rádio Difusora was founded on October 12, 1933, as Rádio Clube by João Sampaio Góes.
The opening program was from 8 am to 11:30 am the next day and consisted of greetings from friends and messages from businesses and local entities.
The festivities included the presentation of orchestras, bands and singers.
It was one of the first broadcasters founded in Brazil.In 1944, it changed its name to Rádio Difusora, which remains to this day.
In 1950, the couple Aristides and Maria Conceição Figueiredo, who had a radio station in Uberlândia (MG), bought the station, as João Góes thought that television would end radio.
With a new administrative philosophy, Difusora was conquering space and gaining more and more advertisers, since the advertising until then practically non-existent in the broadcaster, started to receive special attention from the board that took over.In this phase, Difusora started to move its programming more, with the implementation of radio soap operas, new auditorium programs and great shows with orchestras and famous artists from Rádio Nacional, such as Nelson Gonçalves, Marlene, Ângela Maria, Emilinha Borba, Carlos Galhardo and others.In 1962, Aristides Figueiredo, one of the greatest creators of Piracicaban radio, who had run the station for 12 years, passed away, leaving the direction of Difusora in the hands of his wife Maria Conceição Figueiredo, who, with determination, made the station grow even more.
After three years alone at the head of Rádio and without children, she invited her niece and goddaughter Maria Conceição Pippa and her fiancé José Roberto Soave to help her in the administration.So in 1965, the station started the phase under the command of José Roberto Soave.
With serious work and great administrative capacity, he invested heavily in broadcasting games and in journalism, which was his passion.
Soave gave greater dynamism to the station, gradually transforming it into a radio station aimed at providing services to the community, since, from the 70s onwards, auditorium shows began to disappear, and radio stations had to find a new way to grab the listeners attention.
And journalism was one of them.It was at this time that competitions began to appear in the city, organized by Rádio Difusora, a creative idea by Roberto Soave.
They took place on the program Show das Três, presented by Attinilo José.
“I would ask, on the air, for people to bring, in 20 minutes, a certain object to the station.
Whoever succeeded would win a prize offered by the sponsor”, he recalls.
Over time, the dispute took on such proportions that teams were formed to participate, creating teams with EkypéXato, Zoom-Zoom, EkyPeralta and Ekypelanka, which later became samba schools that were very successful in golden years of Piracicaba carnival.
“The competitions started to mobilize a multitude of people and lasted about ten years”, says Attilino José, a radio broadcaster for over 40 years.Soaves greatest achievement at the station was the implementation of modulated frequency (FM), in 1977, another pioneering work of the PRD-6.
After visiting FM stations in the United States, he imported all the equipment, installed FM here and took the opportunity, at the same time, to replace and modernize all the AM equipment.
And the broadcaster became, once again, a reference for the entire interior of São Paulo and even for other states, which came to Piraciaba to learn about that innovation before implementing the same transmission system.
With this new acquisition - FM 102.3 Mhz -, a new style of programming was incorporated into it.
